Authentic Vintage Japanese Tsumugi Silk Fabric – Select Your Size

Add a piece of Japanese textile history to your next creative project! This authentic Tsumugi silk fabric was carefully unraveled from a traditional vintage Japanese kimono. Celebrated for its unique slubbed texture and subtle elegance, Tsumugi (Japanese pongee silk) offers a rich, rustic feel that sets it apart from standard smooth silk.

Choose from two available panel options tailored for your sewing and crafting needs:

■ Available Options (Select from dropdown): ・Sleeve Panel: Approx. 37cm x 100 cm (14.5" x 39.3") ・Body Panel: Approx. 37 cm x 150 cm (14.5" x 59")

■ What is Tsumugi Silk? Unlike shiny filament silk, Tsumugi is woven using hand-spun raw silk threads. This traditional technique produces a soft, durable fabric with a characteristic matte finish and textured weave that gets softer with age.

■ Product Details & Specifications ・Material: 100% Silk (Tsumugi / Pongee Silk) ・Origin: Hand-crafted in Japan ・Condition: Vintage / Upcycled (Cleaned and unraveled, ready to use) ・Width: Approx. 37 cm (14.5 inches) ・Color & Pattern: Yellow Ichimatsu Pattern Manufactured circa 1960s

■ Ideal For: ・Custom apparel & wearable art (scarves, vests, accents) ・Handmade bags, pouches, and patchwork accessories ・Quilting, textile wall art, and interior decor

■ Vintage & Upcycled Fabric Note Because this fabric is reclaimed from a vintage pre-loved kimono, it may feature minor characteristics of authentic hand-craftsmanship, such as light crease lines from previous seams or tiny stitch marks along the selvedge. Every piece is carefully inspected to ensure top quality for your projects.

■ Care Instructions Dry cleaning is recommended. If hand washing, gently wash in cold water with a neutral silk detergent and iron on low heat while slightly damp. Please note that natural silk may shrink slightly when washed with water.Additionally, as this is an authentic vintage item, it may carry a subtle vintage scent from storage or traditional mothballs, which will fade with gentle airing in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
